About us

Northcroft offers a unique learning environment that combines the friendly, personal atmosphere of a small village school with the nurturing qualities of a home. Simultaneously, it provides specialised professional support. Our school fosters a caring and supportive atmosphere for students from year 7 to year 11. We prioritise quality over quantity, enhancing the overall educational experience for children.

At Northcroft, we work with pupils who have diverse needs, including Emotionally Based School Avoidance, Anxiety, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (which may impact speech and language development), Attention Deficit and Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD), Cognitive brain delay, trauma, and sensory overloads leading to system shutdowns and meltdowns. Our approach is welcoming, therapeutic, and emotionally empathetic, especially for children who faced challenges in mainstream settings due to specific learning difficulties or more complex communication and interaction issues.

Our school’s guiding quote, ‘I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be,’ reflects the different trajectories many of our children experience on their educational journey. Northcroft’s vision and mission ensure that children receive fundamental support, regain their footing, and find a sense of safety and inspiration.

We provide an environment where students can flourish and become successful young individuals. Opportunities for triumph are abundant. With small class sizes, a strong sense of community, and continuous relationship-building between pupils and the school team, Northcroft prioritises the well-being of both students and staff.

Additionally, our separate therapeutic alternative provision farm and therapy center offer off-site enrichment opportunities for all our pupils.
